Chemical Proteomics

We develop probes based on signaling molecules and use chemical proteomics methodologies to identify key proteins that mediate the often elusive interactions between microbes and between microbes and eukaryotes. Using activity-based protein profiling methods developed by Cravatt and others, we have identified, for example, a human protein (MVP) that responds to the presence of a bacterial signaling molecule.
